Zhiyun-Tech's CRANE 3S Handheld Stabilizer presents an impressive revamp of their previous gimbals, boasting enhanced features like detachable handle options, more powerful motors with a substantial 14.3 lb payload capacity, an updated axis-locking system, external power input, and the advanced ViaTouch 2.0 remote control system. With its 55° angled roll axis, the CRANE 3S allows for unobstructed camera placement, and its modular design accommodates larger cameras by utilizing the included extension arm.

For optimal stability, the CRANE 3S incorporates an ergonomic, angled handle that enables two-handed operation. This versatile handle seamlessly facilitates underslung mode, whether utilizing one or two hands, and allows for creative shots such as 330° roll shots while approaching a subject. Additionally, it offers an array of advanced features including remote control functionality for camera record/stop/shutter operations through the provided cables. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the CRANE 3 LAB, this stabilizer also introduces an improved zoom and focus system, along with compatibility with the separately available Transmount Image Transmission System for wireless video transmission. Moreover, the CRANE 3S can adapt to a wide range of camera sizes with the use of an optional extension module that extends the horizontal arm.

The CRANE 3S comes with two detachable handle options. The included SmartSling features an ergonomic handle with an integrated joystick and control buttons, while the optional EasySling provides a simple and comfortable handgrip without controls. All necessary controls are conveniently located at the top of the main handle, accompanied by an OLED status screen. Additionally, the Zhiyun iOS/Android app offers similar control functions, as well as special features like panorama, focus time-lapse, motion time-lapse, long exposure time-lapse, camera settings, and more.

Powering the CRANE 3S is made easy with the three included batteries, providing up to 12 hours of operation. However, for extended shooting time, the DC port allows for the connection of an optional battery pack, such as the Transmount PowerPlus, which contains six 18650 batteries, increasing shooting time to a maximum of 18 hours. The gimbal can be controlled remotely and its settings managed through the updated ViaTouch 2.0 iOS or Android smartphone app using Bluetooth 5.0 for seamless motion control.

Nine accessory mounting threads are strategically placed around the gimbal, offering flexibility for adding various Transmount or third-party accessories. Furthermore, the gimbal incorporates a redesigned axis latch lock system, featuring separate latch locks on each axis that provide secure and stable positioning without unnecessary movement. This feature allows users to lock the individual axes, preserving balance positions even when powering off the gimbal, eliminating the need for rebalancing before each use.

Please note that the CRANE 3S is compatible only with Zhiyun-Tech's own slightly shorter 18650 batteries, as many third-party alternatives are not supported. Therefore, it is recommended to use Zhiyun-Tech 18650 batteries for optimal performance.
