The Canon RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM is a professional L-series super-telephoto zoom lens designed for Canon EOS R-series full-frame mirrorless cameras. Combining an extensive 100-500mm focal-length range, advanced optical construction and powerful image stabilisation, it is an excellent choice for wildlife, sports, aviation, nature and outdoor photography.
The lens features 6-stop optical Image Stabilization, with three IS modes designed for different shooting situations. When paired with compatible EOS R-series cameras featuring in-body image stabilisation, the overall stabilisation performance can be even greater.
Its optical design incorporates one Super UD element and six UD elements to help minimise chromatic aberration and deliver sharp, high-quality images throughout the zoom range.
The dual Nano USM autofocus system provides fast, quiet and precise focusing, making the lens suitable for both still photography and video.
At the 500mm end, the lens provides substantial reach while maintaining a comparatively compact design for a professional 500mm-class zoom. The lens is also compatible with Canon's RF1.4x and RF2x Extenders, although they can only be used at focal lengths of 300mm or longer.
